Jamie Ascher

Biography: I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas and moved to Nashville in 2006. I’ve loved art and design since I was in elementary school. I knew early on in high school that I wanted a career in art and computers, so choosing graphic design was easy. I really enjoy the fact that it is so much more than just making pretty things. It’s problem solving, strategic and intentional decision-making, visual symbolism, and potentially life-changing. Someday I would like to teach design and have my own line of furniture. On my ipod: Phil Wickham, Patty Griffin, Helen Jane Long, Michelle McLaughlin, Sleeping at Last, Andrew Belle, Coldplay, The Submarines, Stornoway, a whole bunch of different stuff. Favorite Books: Anything about graphic design, Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys, anything C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, children’s books with great illustration work… During free time I... Travel, do photography, paint, running, hiking, baking, camping, play sports, or whatever adventures come along. Favorite Memory: There’s so many! Graduating college and putting on a senior design show, doing study abroad in the Netherlands, meeting my husband and getting married, and all of the trips I’ve gone on to name a few.
